Gainesville, Texas is located at the intersection of I35 and Hwy 82 in north Texas.  Sitting on the Oklahoma border, it is situated just one hour north of Dallas, and 2 hours south of Oklahoma City and is a stop on the Amtrak line. The newly renovated historic Courthouse surrounded by shops and restaurants is less than half a mile west of I35 at the California Street exit.  Below is a map of the downtown area.
