The quirky George Y Bird building, with its original wood floors and mural from the Bird Drygood Store at the turn of the century, provides a fitting backdrop for Cahoots Handbags, handmade from vintage textiles such as 1940s German mattress ticking in tiny limited editions.  These handbags, made by artist Paige Davidson and sew-wizard Marsha Davidson, are sold in boutiques worldwide and have been featured among the pages of magazines such as Jane, Lucky, Venus, and Pregnancy & Newborn.  They were also made a "fashion must-have" on Good Morning Texas.

The store is home to the work of local artist Paige Davidson.  Her paintings and drawings have shown in galleries both nationally and internationally and are a part of the private collection of Brazillian jazz singer Marissa Monte as well as the public collections of the University of Texas at Austin and the Carson County Square House Museum.  Her work was also in the 2005 film Hate Crime featuring Giancarlo Esposito and Bruce Davison.  Stop by the shop to meet the artist/designer and to see her handmade things as well as the lines by her fantastic artist friends.

Store Hours:  M-F  10am-5pm  Saturdays 10am-3pm
